Crazy Ex-Girlfriend season 3: Josh Groban set to appear
Recently on Rachel Bloom’s Instagram account, the lead actress posted a video with Groban popping in and out of frame with the caption “@joshgroban is gonna be on #crazyexgirlfriend but it’s a secret so don’t tell anyone”.
The actor has just completed in his run on the Broadway hit “Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812” and now will be moving from the stage to the small screen. His role in the series, according to the network, will involve him playing a mysterious and helpful stranger who will also sing in the show.
So what could Groban’s role be all about? Well considering that Season 2 ended with Rebecca (Rachel Bloom) vowing to destroy the love of her life Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez III) because he left her at the alter, we’d guess Groban’s character will interact with Rebecca. We believe this because it states that his character is helpful. So maybe that is a clue that he will somehow help Rebecca in her quest to ruin Josh’s life and apparently he may sing along the way.
This dynamic once again makes this show different from many other comedies on television right now and it certainly brings an element of curiosity along with it.
Season 3 of the series is already going to be a crazy one with Rachel Bloom announcing at the TCA press tour that the upcoming season will have some Fatal Attraction vibes going on.
“If you thought this show was going to be funny Fatal Attraction, that’s what we are going into the season as.”
Co-creator of the show Aline Brosh McKenna added on to Bloom’s statement.
“If Rebecca tried to boil a bunny, she would take the bunny and bring it home, and a month later she would have 50 bunnies. She is not very good at being a femme fatale.”
No matter what Josh Groban’s guest role is intriguing and one that we cannot wait to see. Groban has previously acted on NBC’s Parks and Recreation and CBS’s Life in Pieces.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend returns Friday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
