Crime Dynamic Duos: Longmire (Walt / Vic) vs. Chicago PD (Voight / Halstead)

Longmire

Ready for the latest edition of our Crime Dynamic Duos series? We’re in the second round, and the stakes are higher — and the competition is much stronger to boot! We’ve got two pairs today facing off who had different roads to get to this point the competition, and to go along with that, also have very different paths on the show. One of them has been a duo for quite some time, and the other is paired together here more because of circumstance.

In the end, there’s a lot to celebrate here in between Longmire and Chicago PD, but only one duo can stand atop the pedestal of victory and prepare for a spot in the final 8. (Check out the image above for more of the calendar.)

Who moves on to the next round? That’s totally up to you! Check out the poll at the bottom of the article.

Still with us? Let’s dive into this battle…

Walt and Vic, Longmire (#1 seed) – We anticipated that the duo / favorite of many ‘shippers everywhere would make it through the first round. It was actually a closer battle than we anticipated, with Happy and Toby from Scorpion putting up a good fight. Will things be as close this time around?

We’re gearing up for the sixth and final season of Longmire premiering on Netflix a little bit later this year, and with that, we’ve got some high hopes and big expectations for these two characters. Walt and Vic are beloved for their abilities in the field, but also the respect and dedication that they have for those around them. They’ve never been all that great when it comes to sharing their feelings, and those similarities may hold them back at times from being a romantic couple in the end.

Voight and Halstead, Chicago PD (#4 seed) – Like we said when we introduced the two, this was an unusual pairing because they aren’t technically paired up all that much on the NBC show; nonetheless, it felt right to include Halstead somehow given that he and Lindsay (the departing Sophia Bush) were the winners of the tournament last year.

Despite being a little more under-the-radar as a part, these two did throttle Juliet and Lassiter from Psych pretty easily in the first round, and they’re now the underdogs here. Will Chicago PD fans find a way to push for them and get the two parties into the next round? It absolutely feels possible.
