Crime Dynamic Duos: Jamie / Eddie (Blue Bloods) vs. Ducky / Palmer (NCIS)

In one of our entries in the Crime Dynamic Duos tournament today, we’re focusing on two different CBS crime shows — and also two relationships that are very different from each other. One is out in the front lines, while the other often takes a very different approach to doing things behind the scenes. In the end, though, only one of them is going to have a chance to move forward to the next phase — they’re both worthy in their own way.

Through the rest of this article, we’re going to do our best to explain what makes each duo worthy of inclusion in the tournament this year. It’s a little bit less about the relationship that they have, and a little more about the work that they do.

Who moves on to the next round? That’s totally up to you! Check out the poll at the bottom of the article.

Still with us? Let’s dive into this battle…

Jamie and Eddie, Blue Bloods (#4 seed) – The “will they or won’t they?” relationship is one of the most tried-and-true in all of crime TV. You watch two characters get together, and over the years, you see that relationship grow into something more. By the end of the series, the hope is that the two become a couple officially, get married, and go on to live the life you’ve always dreamed for them.

Unfortunately for all of the Jamie / Eddie ‘shippers that are out there (and there are many of them), these two haven’t arrived at that moment just yet. Still, don’t you want to see it happen? There’s still at least one more season for them to have a shot.

Ducky and Palmer, NCIS (#5 seed) – This relationship is obviously very different, given that you’ve got a mentor and protegee working within a lab to do their best at assisting on some cases. They don’t often get the big hero moments — though we do see them from time to time — and they also do tend to find a rather great way to make themselves valuable. They are two of the unsung heroes anchored by great performances from David McCallum and Brian Dietzen, and we certainly do cherish when they get their own spotlight episodes. Is this where we ask for more of that during season 15?
