Big Brother 19 live feed spoilers: Can Cody find new allies? (day 48, morning)

Big Brother

While Cody may not be in the greatest position in the world right now in the Big Brother house, one of the biggest things that happens on the show is that single players often have a better chance of survival than duos do. Look at Rachel Reilly back in season 13, given how she wasn’t viewed as nearly as big of a threat once Brendon was evicted from the game.

For Cody, the best thing that could happen is Jessica leaving, just as it was the best thing for Jessica when he was sent home. This is a numbers game, and there are players who are starting to wake up. Earlier today, Cody had a conversation with Jason and Kevin, who are discussing keeping him around for a few weeks and using him to take on some of the other targets that are out there in the game. Look at the likes of Matt, Raven, Josh, and Christmas. There’s also Paul, and both Jason and Kevin are smart enough to know that he cannot be there at the end.

It makes sense for these two guys to want to pick Cody up — they’ve kept up a good relationship with him, and while we’ve joked here or there about Cody throwing in the towel and following Jessica out the door, this is a guy who hates his current job (look back at his Big Jeff interview) and also has a child back home he needs to take care of. If he thinks that there’s a chance he can make it far in the game, he’s going to do everything that he can in order to make that happen.

Smart players should try to use someone like Cody to improve their position — he’s probably not going to be a good person to bring to the end, but he’s a weapon and he should be weaponized for a while in the right hands. It also helps that Jessica should be gone pre-jury if she remains the target for the rest of the week — she won’t be there to campaign for him to win.

Veto Ceremony plans

Raven is still going up as the replacement nominee, and there have been discussions aplenty about if she’s going to use this for sympathy and/or to make Mark look back for saving himself from being on the block. All of this is stupid, as is the idea of Mark wanting to ensure his safety for the week. It’s a game! He’s not the target but there’s no reason for him to welcome jeopardy. Also, nobody’s going to feel all that sorry for Raven giving that many people in the game already are questioning the authenticity of her accent and have found her rather grating. She’s just another person competing for the money — nothing more, and nothing less.
