Agents of SHIELD season 5 spoilers: Jeff Ward lands substantial arc
Here is what we do know at the moment. Per a new report coming in courtesy of Deadline, Ward (not to be confused with Grant Ward) is going to be a recurring player on the upcoming fifth season … and that’s virtually it. In true Marvel fashion, they are not saying too much more. If someone was to dig, they would more than likely find Marvel assassins creeping up on their front door.
What we would like to see now is some sort of Big Bad for the show who makes themselves clear almost from the beginning of the season, and presents an epic challenge for SHIELD as they try to determine how to take them down. We’re all for stories that routinely bring different things to the table, and this is something that the ABC show could strongly benefit from now. Last season with Aida, they had a character who didn’t become all that much of an adversary until later on down the road. We do always think that it’s best that you do different things every time you’re on the air.
In general, we’d say right now that this is the most mysterious season of Agents of SHIELD yet. There was no Comic-Con panel this year, and as a result of that, there is a little less information known publicly. That should change before its premiere later this fall, which will come at the conclusion of The Inhumans on ABC.
What else is Jeff Ward known for?
He has appeared in episodes of such shows as The Mentalist and Body of Proof, but one of his most substantial arcs is still to come on the Syfy series Channel Zero, which has a second season premiering this year. In general, we’d say that he is an up-and-coming performer and someone who could benefit from this tremendous platform and the epic SHIELD family that exists out there. This is one of the most supportive fandoms out of everything on TV.
