Big Brother 19 live feed spoilers: ‘Killing them with kindness’ (day 42, morning)

Before moving forward, a quick refresher: Jessica and Cody are currently on the block, and she’s planning to use the Halting Hex in order to save themselves from eviction this week. That decision yesterday is what caused so much of the insanity featuring Paul, Josh, Christmas, Raven, and others in the first place.
Are calmer heads prevailing now? Yes and no. Overnight, Mark gave a lecture to Paul and others about how nobody deserves to be treated the way that Cody and Jess were over the course of the day, and even though they’ve done bad stuff, that doesn’t mean you should respond to bullying with more bullying. Apologies were laid on thick in this conversation, but afterwards, Paul and Josh backed that stance off somewhat. Maybe they did hear some part of the bullhorn or the line of questioning in the Diary Room tipped them off; either way, they’re starting to realize that them taking things to such extremes is only going to make them look bad and like the real bullies in the game. With that, they’re deciding seemingly to back down a little bit. Christmas even suggested “killing them with kindness” leading into the Thursday show.
We love drama as much as the next person, but we also do want Big Brother to remain a fun show. Over time, things just get depressing if people are screaming at each other all of the time; players can be a little more tolerable to Jess and Cody while still wanting to get them out of the house. Jess and Cody also have seemingly backed off their debate as to whether or not they should quit the game, at least for the time being. It’s still something that they may choose to do down the road if things don’t go their way.
So for now, we’re expecting day 42 to be a little bit quieter than some of the days that came beforehand … though to be fair, we also felt like this week was going to be fairly quiet. Much of it is going to depend on if Paul’s crew keeps their cool, and if Jess and Cody do something to set them off. Matt is more on edge, for example, than he’s ever been over the way that Jess has supposedly gone after Raven. What she did to her yesterday wasn’t great, but it also wasn’t the nastiest thing in the world.
