Quantico season 3: Marlee Matlin joins in major role

Marlee Matlin

Oscar award winning actress, Marlee Matlin has been cast in Season 3 of ABC’s Quantico.

According to Deadline, Matlin is set to play Jocelyn Turner, described by the site as “an ex-FBI agent who was known at one time as the best undercover agent in the field, until a bomb blew up near her and rendered her deaf. The FBI put her out to pasture, but now she’s being brought back to join a special unit with several other returning characters.”

Her character is sure to bring an interesting dynamic to the show. By bring a deaf character into the mix, it will be interesting to see how she will interact with the other agents and how these agents will perceive her. Her character may have once been at the top, but will the young agents respect? We can imagine they will in way because of her past record, but we expect there to be some type of conflict. The other agents could even underestimate her because she is deaf. This concept would certainly bring the drama and conflict, making the season more exciting.

The other intriguing concept of this casting it the special task force Matlin’s character is being brought back to join. What is this special unit? How will Matlin’s character be of use? There are plenty of possible theories, but one that stands out to us is that the special unit could be related to Alex and Ryan. We know that Matlin’s character is a master of being undercover so could she be back in order to go undercover to find Alex? It’s a possibility and certainly with Code Black‘s Michael Seitzman now taking over as executive producer and showrunner anything is possible.

Marlee Matlin will joins stars Priyanka Chopra, Jake McLaughlin, Johanna Braddy, and Blair Underwood in Season 3 of the ABC drama series.

Matlin became a household name after her Oscar and Golden Globe win for her first film, Children of a Lesser God. She has made appearances on a number of famous television shows including Law and Order: SVU, The Practice, Picket Fences, and Seinfeld. The former earned her four Emmy nominations. Most recently, she has starred on Freeform’s Switched at Birth and Syfy’s The Magicians.

Whatever happens this upcoming season, its definitely going to be one to check out and we hope fans will return each week to keep the ratings up on this well-received series.
