Raven’s Home episode 3 spoilers: Raven’s rent problems

Raven's Home episode 3

Following tonight’s episode, where is Raven’s Home episode 3 going to go? The series will start to settle in, and next week you may see what the show looks like on a weekly basis. Tonight is still special in many ways, given that you’ve got the return of Jonathan McDaniel and a story that is specifically designed in order to appeal to the That’s So Raven crowd that is out there.

It’s definitely hard to fault the folks over at the Disney Channel for this sort of strategic thinking, given that they need to get some fans of the original series to watch the new show; otherwise, it doesn’t have much of a chance of actually succeeding! Ideally, the goal is to get some of those nostalgia-lovers, and then pairing them up with some young viewers who just love the Disney Channel and will watch any of the programming. In combining those forces, you may have a recipe that actually does work in the end.

Below, you can get a little more information regarding “The Baxters Get Bounced,” a story airing in one week’s time that highlights some of the financial hardships that Raven, Chelsea, and their new joined-up family are going to be going through.

Raven’s Home episode 3 synopsis – “When the landlord Mr. Jablonski raises Raven’s rent after learning Chelsea and Levi have moved in, Nia and Booker try to hold a yard sale to help their mom.”

One of the appealing things in both the short and long-term for a show like Raven’s Home is that it really does seem as though it is working to appeal to some of the relatability that its characters may have with viewers at home. While there are certainly many young people on TV that kid viewers can emulate, very few of them may have the same sort of struggles or insecurities. This show can establish some of that, and make some of these kids feel like they have a voice — while still providing some laughs in the process. We like to think of Raven’s Home as a series with some empowering attributes, but it’s also one that is not trying to completely reinvent the wheel. It gives you some of what you love, wrapped in a package that may appeal to kids out there who could use a little more connectivity to the show that they love.

Before we go, one more fun fact: This episode was actually the second one filmed for the Disney Channel. It’s just airing a week later, presumably so that the McDaniel appearance could happen tonight.
