The Night Shift season 4 episode 6 preview: Is Kenny in danger?

Night Shift season 4 episode 6

The Night Shift season 4 episode 6 airing next week is poised to provide many different things, but a big story for Kenny tops the list. JR Lemon told us earlier this season that this would be a huge episode for his character, and based on the information that is out there for this episode, that definitely does seem to be the case.

Below, you can get a little bit more information as to what’s coming, including that TC is finally going to be heading back to San Antonio after spending the bulk of the season overseas.

The Night Shift season 4 episode 6 synopsis – “Kenny (JR Lemon) joins Drew (Brendan Fehr) at his MMA veteran’s support group and finds himself in the fight of his life. Jordan (Jill Flint) and Cain (recurring guest star Mark Consuelos) treat casualties from a hotel fire while Shannon (Tanaya Beatty) follows a hunch to help save a young victim. Paul’s (Robert Bailey Jr.) superstar sister, Dr. Bella Cummings (guest star Erica Tazel, “Justified”), pays a visit to San Antonio Memorial and provides desperately needed support during a busy shift. Meanwhile, TC (Eoin Macken) finally returns home, forcing him to deal with Topher’s death.”

By the end of this episode, we do anticipate that we will know much more about these characters than we did going in, and that has to be the ultimate goal of the story as a whole. One of the main selling points of the show, beyond the medical cases, is the relationship that we as viewers have to the characters. This is something that we imagine will grow and expand outward as we get further into the season.

For those who haven’t heard, there’s a fun reason to be excited about this episode behind the scenes: Eoin Macken directed it! This is the first time he’s held that role on the show, though it’s far from his first time as a director overall.

The promo for the episode

This is a case of NBC actually showcasing in the promo something that they’ve hyped up previously — that’s something you’d understandably expect, but it’s not actually something that has happened all that often this season. You see in here precisely why Kenny is in so much danger, but the also what the doctors are trying to do in order to help him.

What makes this story so interesting is that in theory, Kenny should be more prepared for this than the average patient given that he’s spent so much time in the hospital as a nurse. However, it’s so different when it’s happening to you, and you understandably don’t know how to take it. It makes sense that you would be freaking out and scrambling to figure out what to do.
