Real Housewives of Atlanta season 10: Kim Zolciak officially returning
Here is some of what Zolciak had to say regarding the news in a new post on her Instagram page:
“FINALLLY! After many months of negotiations, I’m happy and excited to confirm that as of today my deal is done! I’m coming to play with the ladies over at RHOA. However, since you all have made my OWN show such a huge success, I’ve decided to continue to carry that instead of carrying a peach! See you soon.”
By not “carrying a peach,” Zolciak is referencing the end of the opening theme, where all active cast members are seen holding that famed Georgia piece of fruit. Kim obviously doesn’t need to do this job full time, but her appearing here is a win-win. She gets more publicity for her solo show, while the franchise benefits from having her back. Kim is not the only returning former cast member, as you are also going to get a chance to see in here an appearance from none other than NeNe Leakes, back for the first time on a consistent basis in a while.
We’re not going to refer to the new Real Housewives of Atlanta season as necessarily a reboot per se, it does feel very much like there is some sort of concentrated effort in order to reestablish some of the show’s original charm and push away from the drama of the past several years. After all, things did start to become a little bit ugly courtesy of what happened with Phaedra Parks, Porsha Williams, and Kandi Burruss, and everyone is smart to want to move on from that. Bravo also has a tremendous amount staked in this edition of the franchise, given that it is the highest-rated version and one where the bulk of the cast does get other opportunities, whether it be Dancing with the Stars or some other reality shows that are out there. We’re excited to see what the show looks like with Kim serving as a part of it, but also just what some of the Housewives find themselves getting into.
Alas, the most disappointing part of all of this is the lengthy wait that is still out there for more new episodes. After all, at the moment the plan is that the show is not going to be back on the air until later this year with new episodes. Hopefully, earlier this fall there will be something more revealed, whether it be an official premiere date or some sort of full trailer.
