Bachelor in Paradise 4 spoilers: Dean Unglert joining cast

Dean Unglert

While this may be hardly a secret to some out there, it’s now official that Dean Unglert will be a part of Bachelor in Paradise 4.

In the post on Twitter below, you can see the show confirm Dean’s participation with a simple image of him. He placed fourth officially on Rachel Lindsay’s The Bachelorette after being eliminated following one of the more painful hometown dates that we’ve seen over the series. She questioned whether or not he was ready for a relationship or a commitment that she was looking for, and he insisted that he was. We’ll see if that is proven true in terms of him and anyone else this summer.

One of the interesting things about Dean on Paradise is that he is a little bit of an enigma still to some of the other contestants. Obviously, they know a little bit about his arc this season, but they don’t know how he fared in the end and how that hometown date turned out. Maybe he tells them a thing or two about it, but that probably doesn’t replicate the feeling of actually seeing on TV.

For Dean, one of the struggles we foresee is that even with the production halt, there wasn’t that much time in between when filming for The Bachelorette ended with him and when filming for Paradise began. Some of the other guys from Rachel’s season who are on this show didn’t make it anywhere near as far or have that emotional attachment to her.

Is it possible that Dean could still be The Bachelor?

We know that this is a question that could be out there among Dean fans, and you don’t have to look any further than what happened with Nick on the show last year for evidence that it is possible. With that said, we do think that Peter Kraus is the favorite for that role provided that he doesn’t get engaged to Rachel at the end of this season. If he doesn’t want the job or a deal falls through for whatever reason, it’s possible that we could then see someone like Dean or a contestant from a past season considered. Some of that also depends on how Dean comes across after this show and if viewers still love him — that’s such an almost-impossible thing to gauge in advance given that viewers are such a fickle bunch.

For now, let’s just ask this: Are you glad to see Dean on Bachelor in Paraidse? Do you think that it’s a good venue for someone like him? Share now in the attached comments.

Meanwhile, if you missed it, head over to this link to see the first promo from the new season. It doesn’t give a whole lot away in terms of the story of the show ahead, but it is definitely still worth watching. (Photo: ABC.)
