Shooter season 2 episode 1 spoilers: A different sort of target

Shooter

On Tuesday night at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, Shooter is going to be returning to USA with new episodes. Are you ready for what’s next?

This is an article designed with one key purpose: Doing everything to ensure that you’re prepared for what lies, and that includes seeing more of where the show came from in season 1. The first video below offers you a good sense of who Bob Lee Swagger is, what he’s done in the past, and the level of fame that he does have and some of the highs and lows that come with that. Unfortunately, one of the things that you probably do have to realize when you are one of the world’s most-famous snipers is that there are people that are going to want to take you down. Bob Lee will have to deal with that during the second season, and in the process try to keep all facets of his life together.

Both videos ultimately reflect a little bit of the central struggle for the premiere: A peaceful gala event that is turned deadly, and as the episode progresses, it’s going to be more apparent that the responsible party may have had a very specific motive in mind for what they were doing. Let’s start by sharing the synopsis for the episode.

Shooter season 2 premiere synopsis – “Bob Lee Swagger and wife Julie join his former Marine unit in Germany and narrowly escape a deadly terrorist attack. FBI Agent Nadine Memphis takes a job in Washington with Patricia Gregson.”

While the words “terrorist attack” are used here, it’s in the two videos below that you may start to raise an eyebrow a little bit. After all, in these it’s suggested that whoever is behind the attacks may have been doing so with more of a personal motive in mind: Murder. That raises the stakes, and much of the second season could be a game of survival for both Bob Lee and everyone close to him.

What are the expectations?

Pretty high, given that the first season was a bit of a surprise hit for USA. It aired in a challenging timeslot last fall after being initially pushed back, and it still averaged a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic. There wasn’t that much of a layoff between seasons, and we feel like with that, there’s a reasonably good chance that you will end up seeing the numbers fairly solid this summer, as well.  It’s the sort of thing that is hard to project in advance, but there is less in the way of competition this summer; hopefully, that will work to offset some of the challenges that come with airing at a time of the year when people are off doing other things.
