Arrow season 6 spoilers: What’s the story for Black Siren?
For one, there’s the whole idea as to whether or not she can be redeemed, or if the Earth-2 Laurel Lance is actually the season 6 Big Bad. It’s possible, but it feels equally so that someone may be able to get to her and convince her that this is not the only way for her to be. While the likes of Oliver, Quentin, and other people in Star City aren’t the same people she knew from Earth-2, they may have something in common with them.
In speaking further about this in a new interview with TVLine, executive producer Wendy Mericle had the following message to pass along:
“I don’t know if there’s any question about whether or not the [idea] of redemption will come up; it has to … Her father is there. Oliver is there. Everyone is going to be asking whether or not it’s possible to find a little piece of Laurel, the Laurel Lance they knew and loved, in there somewhere.”
There is very little doubt in our mind as to whether or not we’re going to be seeing Black Siren showcase her dark side during the season — with her history, it’s inevitable. Will someone be able to get to her? If anyone, it’s probably going to be Oliver, given that she did have a romantic relationship with her Earth’s version long before his death over there.
What we want for Black Siren
Let’s make this pretty simple: We’re craving an episode that is almost her island story, where we learn how she went from being a seemingly-ordinary young woman to a villain with devastating powers. We want to see what her relationship with Oliver was like, how that relationship fell apart, and also what her future could have been like had things gone differently? We’d love to see more about her history with Zoom, as well — while this would require a guest spot from Teddy Sears, it doesn’t appear as though 24: Legacy is going to be coming back anytime soon. With that, why not hire him for a guest spot to flesh out this story further?
In general, Black Siren’s an exciting character just because she’s not your ordinary villain. She’s only so closely tied to a beloved person in Earth-1 and Black Canary, and seeing those parallels play out should prove to be rather fun. The same goes maybe getting to see another showdown with the new Canary in Dinah Drake, who had a memorable scene with her back at the end of last season.

Couldn’t be more excited to learn more about her. This is the version of Dinah Lance we should’ve had from the beginning instead of wasting time with the other nonsense. The Flash spoon fed Arrow the perfect adaptation of Black Canary and they better not mess it up. I also don’t think her relationship with Ollie fell apart. He simply died.
The show needs to tie up loose ends with Wild Dog, Dinah Drake, and Felicity then get rid of them. Next, bring back Ragman, Human Target, Arsenal, and a redeemed Vigilante and Black Siren. The four of them can really whip Mister Terrific into shape and along Diggle and Thea, would be the perfect team Arrow.

Yeah I don’t want to see any of that. If we do get such an episode of her backstory then I’ll know that’s a week I can skip. ? Either keep her as a villain, popping up now and then to cause trouble for the team….or redeem her and ship her back to E2. ? We’ve already got a kickass Black Canary with a metahuman canary cry, don’t need two.

I want to see her shipped off back to E2. This show has no place for her. She’s a weak, irrelevant lackey. Nothing will be gained from knowing her history because E2 other than giving an irrelevant character a backstory.
