Once Upon a Time season 7 filming officially underway!
In the post below from his official Instagram, co-creator Adam Horowitz confirmed that production is underway in Vancouver leading up to the start of the season this fall. In some ways, there are elements of season 7 that are similar to every one that came before it. After all, we are still speaking about a run of (presumably) 22 episodes that are being filmed around the city, and you do still have many of the same people behind the scenes working on the show.
The big difference obviously starts here with the cast, as Lana Parrilla, Colin O’Donoghue, and Robert Carlyle are the only three regulars coming back on the show after being a part of the past several seasons. You’ll get to presumably see Jennifer Morrison for one more episode, but beyond that, we all move forward as the show tries to take on some other challenges. Many of those will come courtesy of wherever the show takes the remaining characters, which is probably going to be on an exciting new adventure far outside of Storybrooke.
One of the things that will be very different from the jump is the presence of a much older Henry, one who has lost a great deal of his faith in everything that he once held dear. He also now has a daughter, and she could be responsible for helping the entirety of this show come full-circle. What may be a little bit crazy to think about is that Emma Swan is apparently now a grandmother, while 39-year old Ginnifer Goodwin is somehow playing a character who is a great-grandmother (well technically she is, though we don’t think there are any plans to actually see Snow White in season 7).
What else do we know?
Recently, there were a whole slew of female cast members confirmed for the new season. Some of them will be regulars, but all of them should be around for a little while. It’s probably fair to guess that one of them is going to be playing the part of mother to Henry’s child.
