Game of Thrones and other HBO shows now available on Hulu

Game of Thrones

Hulu has just stepped up its game. Viewers will now have access to HBO and Cinemax programming under a new deal. The best part about this deal is that the deal comes just in time for the Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere.

According to Deadline, beginning today viewers can stream all of HBO’s series, theatrical movies, documentaries, sports, and comedy and music specials both live and on demand. Viewers can have this for $14.99 a month, plus for an additional $9.99 per month, subscribers can view Cinemax programming.

Senior Vice President and Head of Distribution and Partnerships at Hulu Tim Connolly expressed his excitement regarding the deal below:

“By combining HBO’s iconic programming with our world class user experience and deep content offering, Hulu is giving viewers easy and highly personalized access to the very best of television. With this important new partnership, fans can now watch Game of Thrones live every Sunday, binge watch all six seasons of The Sopranos or catch up on Westworld alongside our live TV, sports, classic TV shows and Hulu originals – all without ever having to leave the Hulu app.”

Some of the programs not available include HBO series Veep, Last Week Tonight, Vice, Silicon Valley, and Sesame Street, as well as Big Little Lies and The Night Of. Viewers can also watch recent box office hits including X-Men: Apocalypse, Independence Day: Resurgence, Suicide Squad, Jason Bourne, and The Boss.

If these movies and shows don’t catch your interest, then maybe the Cinemax programs will. The list includes The Purge: Election Year, Warcraft, and Deepwater Horizon along with their original series The Knicks, Outcast, Banshee, and Quarry.

Sofia Chang, Executive Vice President, Worldwide Digital Distribution and Home Entertainment gave a brief statement regarding the match between Hulu and HBO:

“Hulu has been a pioneer in the television streaming business, building a robust user base by offering top-tier programming from a variety of networks. We see them as the perfect partner to help us fulfill our promise to HBO fans, bringing our unparalleled programming to audiences in the most sophisticated, convenient and innovative ways.”

In addition, east and west coast live feeds of HBO and Cinemax will be available to subscribers on supported devices and those who purchase the HBO add-on through Hulu will also have access to HBO NOW. Viewers will also have additional access to live channels such as HBO 2, HBO Family, HBO Latino, HBO Comedy, HBO Signature HD, HBO Zone, MoreMAX HD, ActionMAX HD, ThrillerMAX HD, MovieMAX HD, 5StarMAX HD, and OuterMAX HD in the coming weeks.

On a side note, it’s worth mentioning that viewers can get HBO Now and HBOs standalone streaming series for the same price as mentioned above. This may just be a great resource if you want everything in one place. (Photo: Hulu.)
