Longmire season 6: Katee Sackhoff’s tribute; what next for Robert Taylor

Katee Sackhoff's tribute

Members of the Longmire posse, are you still feeling sentimental? After reading Katee Sackhoff’s tribute yesterday, we still are.

If you look below, you can see her incredibly-meaningful (and well-shot) post where she reflect on the past several years of her life. We imagine that for her, being on this show had to be a refreshing, beautiful journey and also a nice change of pace. She was a part of one of the most-beloved series of all time in Battlestar Galactica, a stretch of time on 24, and then also the ambitious Bionic Woman revival that didn’t quite work even though there were some exciting ideas at the center of it.

Here with Longmire, she took on something a little more grounded, a nostalgic crime drama filmed in New Mexico and yet set in Wyoming. It exposed her to a new audience, brought in new fans, and hopefully sets the stage for more exciting things to come from her. We know that she does have film projects in the works, and one of the great things about the timing of Longmire filming coming to a close is that they will be wrapping up at a time in which all actors will be able to dive into pilot season, or possibly even snag a recurring gig on another TV show for the upcoming 2017-18 season. Maybe there’s something that could lead to an actor becoming a regular along the way.

For now, let’s just enjoy Katee Sackhoff’s tribute to Longmire for what it is — simple, nostalgic, and sweet. Fingers crossed that after this show premieres on Netflix later this fall, there will be opportunities to see her in some other great work.

Where’s Robert Taylor going next?

Like Sackhoff, Taylor is now done with filming, and he is getting set for what lies ahead for him … and that is including Longmire Days in Buffalo, Wyoming! If you haven’t had too much of a chance to read about that just yet, this annual convention is a celebration both for the show and for the novels written by Craig Johnson. Taylor’s appearance has become almost an annual tradition, and he’s always open and friendly to the fans who show up there. We figure that just like with Sackhoff, Taylor’s going to have further opportunities down the line. Given that he’s had such an interesting, eclectic career so far, we are more than curious to see what’s coming up next.

You can read a little bit more about Longmire Days, and some of the events that are currently being planned, over at the link here. The event starts this Friday, so this should be a nice way to keep the July celebrations going for those who are enjoying a crazy week with fireworks already.

With that in mind, Happy Fourth to everyone out there getting ready to dive into it! There are some exciting times ahead…
