Blindspot season 3 spoilers: What happens in Venice…
According to a new report from TVLine, one of the things that will stand out about the premiere episode is that it’s not being filmed in America at all! Production recently hopped overseas to Venice, and the reasoning for that is to give that first episode a flair all of its own. What will make things even more interesting from there is where the story left off for some of these characters. After all, Jane and Weller had even more of a romantic history together prior to her departure, and now she has more questions to answer and the show another mystery to piece together.
For those wondering, don’t assume that the entire episode will be set in Venice even if there are some scenes being filming there. This is the main operative word here for the time being: “Some.” Hopefully, we’ll get a chance to see some of the cool aspects of Venice (bring on the gondolas!), but also some interesting scenes in other locations that start to put into motion what the entirety of the third season will look like. The one thing we do know is that both Jaimie Alexander and Sullivan Stapleton were there filming, and they were joined there by creator Martin Gero. It’s a very different venue for the show, and with the time jump does come a new look for Jane.
The one thing that we do know with the utmost certainty at the moment is that the premiere of the show will be airing a little bit later than many of the other shows on NBC in October, which is in part due to it having a new timeslot on Friday nights. There may not be that much of a rush for the network to release some of the first footage of what lies ahead; hopefully, this is something that we’ll have a little bit of a further sense of before too long.
