Pretty Little Liars series finale sneak peek: A new Spoby scene!
This preview comes your way courtesy of TVLine, and one of the big highlights of it is Toby’s offering some congratulations to Spencer over “completing” the game — oh, and then there’s also the scene of the moms getting drunk, which is funny just because it is exactly as described. These are characters who did bring some fun energy to the show at times, and we really want to believe that they all got drunk reminiscing about the crazy time they escaped from the basement so many years before. Remember that? Basically, this was the story that time forgot given that it happened and then nobody ever talked about it or explained it.
In getting back to Spoby, the biggest reason to believe that the two could finish the series as an item is rather simple: It’s precisely what many fans would want, and we don’t get the sense that creator Marlene King and the writers were off somewhere months ago plotting to give fans unhappy endings. This is a show that made the characters work hard in order for them to find happiness and path to the future. They probably want to reward some of the loyal viewers who stuck around, as well.
We already know that one couple in Hanna and Caleb is together with their future cemented; meanwhile, Aria and Ezra could get married by the end of the finale, and Emily and Alison have finally admitted their feelings for one another. The relationships are all coming together at the right time. Now, here’s to hoping that they find a way to survive the A.D. reveal and everything else that is coming in the series finale. The answers are coming on this, and maybe many other things by the end of the episode — including hopefully how the moms escaped.
