Ray Donovan season 5 spoilers: Grey’s Anatomy alum Kim Raver signs up
According to a report from Deadline, Raver is set to recur over the course of the coming season in the role of a “cutting-edge surgeon” by the name of Dr. Bergstein. Even though she is probably very familiar with working with roles in the medical profession, at the same time you gotta figure that this one is going to be very much different thanks to all of the people who are operating with corrupt motives and the like.
Alas, we do wish that there was a little bit more to say about the role right now, but given that this is Showtime and there is a thirst to keep things secretive, and we can’t say that we’re altogether surprised to see them going in that direction here, as well. The biggest thing that we’re just hoping to see over the course of this is an opportunity to learn more about how she ties into the rest of the story in the wake of the chaos of season 4, especially with Sarandon’s character calling on a “fixer” in Ray.
For those wanting more news on the new season, the biggest thing to expect there is hopefully some sort of big reveal over the next few weeks in the form of synopses or some individual promos. There is already a new promo that is out there, but odds are that you’ve already seen that if you are a diehard fan of the show.
As Raver’s former show in Grey’s Anatomy, the irony here is that her character Teddy was mentioned for the first time in a while on this past finale thanks to a story involving Owen and his sister Megan. Hopefully, she does turn up there in the flesh at some point.
