Jensen Arnold: Dancing with the Stars pro Lindsay Arnold’s sister auditions for SYTYCD

On this week’s new episode of So You Think You Can Dance, we’ve got a little bit of a familiar face stopping by in Jensen Arnold. She was on the show two years ago, but at the time was not eligible to compete because of her. She was there instead simply to help another contestant auditioning. She also has another element of pre-show fame given that her sister is Lindsay Arnold of Dancing with the Stars fame.

This time around, though, Jensen was there to shine on her own. She brought some of her own moves to the stage, and quickly impressed everyone who was in attendance. The most impressive thing about her from our vantage point was her energy and her technique. She wasn’t keen on resting on her sister’s laurels; she wanted to shine on her own here instead.

After watching this, it does feel pretty clear that Jensen is someone who could be a part of So You Think You Can Dance for a long time this season, and utterly for good reason. The show is always in need of great performers in this style, and we do think that this would make for a great narrative in the event that she does end up being brought onto Dancing with the Stars down the line — though we’re obviously getting very far ahead of ourselves if we think that this is something that is going to happen down the road. She’s still got to make it fair far into this show and make a big impact for herself first. Still, just remember how much fun we saw Derek and Julianne Hough have on the ballroom series for so many years. That could easily end up being replicated here.
