Hawaii Five-0 season 8: Grace Park coy on potential return
While filming for the CBS show is coming up a little later this summer, Park is staying coy about what’s happening with her character; the last we saw her, she was on a plane, leaving Hawaii to continue pursuing work stopping the sex-trafficking ring. While at the ATX Television Festival (where she took part in a Battlestar Galactica reunion panel), Park had the following to say to Entertainment Weekly on the discussion of her future with the series:
“I don’t know as of right now … I did go talk to Peter Lenkov the other day, who is the showrunner, but it’s still undecided as to what’s going to happen. But of course I have hopes for it to go well, but I’m not sure what’s going to come from all this.”
For now, we do want to hold onto the idea that if Park was departing, they would announce it in advance so that viewers can better prepare for it. The biggest reason for our anxiety, whether it be towards Park or any other cast member of this show, is that we’re entering the eighth season and this is the time where there are re-negotiations of contracts and shows do often start to cost more. We’re already worried about Alex O’Loughlin’s future thanks to comments that he’s made in the past, and it’s fair to also wonder about Danny, Kono, Chin, and other longtime characters to go along with McGarrett. What we are at least hoping for (if she isn’t coming back) that we will have a proper ending to her character. We want to know that she’s perusing what’s she’s passionate about, that Adam is with her and that her pregnancy is successful as their family grows.
As a way to further the discussion on some potential endgames for these characters, one of the things that we’ve created is an article series. In it, we go through some possible futures and how they could come about. (You can check those out over here.)
For now, the only definite message to pass along is to stay tuned. We have no intention of leaving you out of the loop for long here; once there is some more news to announce on the subject of these actors and their future, we’ll have it for you. Hawaii Five-0 season 8 is sticking around in its Friday night timeslot at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, and it will premiere on CBS in late September.

Well it was announced Grace and Daniel are moving on. It was a great run for them and the show. They might show up in the series finale…lets hope so.
Will miss them both on the show.

Of Course I want Grace to stick around. She is the most important character on the show for me, although of course it focuses on McGarrett, his team, and the State of Hawaii. I am a rabid GP fan, ever since BSG. It sounds like contract issues to me; I think she wants to get paid a fair salary given her time in the show, her value to it, and as compared to the other characters. Of course the production company wants to remain profitable, given this series might be at the top of its earnings potential. Cough it up guys, we cannot give Grace up!! On the other hand if she does move on, I would like to see some episodes that resolves her storyline, I wish her the best of luck, and I will be looking forward to seeing her in other shows. My prediction (my hope): Kono will be back with her fine slim, sexy self, kicking plenty of bad guy a**, while having her baby (which this time Grace, you might share with the world, and include as part of the story line). My prayer, pleaasseee Grace stayyyy!!
