The Night Shift season 4: Mark Consuelos talks new role

Can you believe that the premiere of The Night Shift season 4 is almost here? It’s exciting since last season left us with so many crazy cliffhangers, but what is also exciting is getting to see Mark Consuelos coming on board. The actor is one of the big additions for the fourth season, where he will play the part of Cain Diaz.

In the video below, you do get a sense of what Consuelos thinks about the show and his character Cain Diaz. He describes the character as a traveling nurse, but also somewhat of a mystery since he’s not the most open character in the world. You come to know more about the man over the season, the work that he does, and hopefully how he relates to the other characters on the show.

Also in this video, Consuelos opens up a little bit further about what it means to him being on The Night Shift, something that he has never done before despite a pretty storied career. He’s had a chance to be part of a lot of different projects over the years, but this is the first time that he’s ever been able to take on anything like this. He also praises the writers and the behind-the-scenes crew members on the show who are veterans at their craft, and know how to tell some of the most relatable stories that come through this season. In his words, “I’ve never been a part of anything like this. It’s really interesting.”

While we don’t want to say too much more about Consuelos or his role for the time being, he is going to have some tension with Kenny in the earlier episodes of season 4 (which makes us even more excited since we love Kenny and any more screen time devoted to Kenny makes us happy). Will that change or evolve? It’s possible since this is a show about growth, but it may not happen right away. Be prepared for a bit of a learning curve getting to know him; the good news is that it does seem that he will be around for a while this season. He is certainly not a replacement for losing Ken Leung, but it’s always nice to get some fresh blood in the picture.
