American Gods finale spoilers: Easter, Jesus, and war
As for the New Gods, you do have to assume that many will be brought back into the world at some point in this finale, as well. Any chance to get more of Gillian Anderson as media is a chance worth taking, right? Bar none, she is one of the show’s most intriguing characters, though we would also throw on there some other people including Laura and Mad Sweeney following the episode / stunning backstory that we were brought to the table tonight.
American Gods finale synopsis – “As war approaches, Mr. Wednesday needs to recruit one more Old God: Ostara, aka Easter, Goddess of the Dawn, but swaying her requires making a good impression, so Mr. Nancy is brought in.”
Hopefully, the ending of this story sets the table rather nicely for season 2 no matter what it brings. We do know that the show has a large arsenal of worthy characters who could certainly contribute to it at this point.
As for the promo that aired following tonight’s episode, you did get a sighting of one of the most famous spiritual figures of all: Jesus. To date, he is tied closely into Laura and her attempts at resurrection. Yet, there is still one valuable question left to be asked: How is Sweeney going to convince this man to resurrect someone who is far from virtuous, and someone who’s technically died on two different occasions already? (Okay, maybe you don’t consider her death tonight another one, but if she wasn’t already dead wouldn’t that accident with the ice-cream truck have killed her? Laura really needs to stay away from motor vehicles once she is brought back to life.)
