Outlander season 3: New Sam Heughan highlights; one more week!

Heughan highlights

For everyone who loves Outlander, know this: The end of filming is almost here! There is only a week more to go until season 3 filming wraps, and everyone can go off and enjoy hiatus, work on some other projects, or just SLEEP. We’re sure that there are plenty of people out there who are simply choosing to do the latter.

In a post on Twitter recently, Heughan responded to a recent post from show executive producer Matthew B. Roberts, issuing another reminder that there is only so much time left to go in production. That’s exciting! The cast has certainly earned a break, though we also know that for Heughan it’s a short break given that he has a movie project coming up soon with Kate McKinnon and Mila Kunis.

Roberts also posted another tweet on the subject of filming ending, reminding everyone that even though filming is wrapping, that doesn’t exactly mean that everyone packs up their stuff and awaits season 4. There is still editing and other post-production duties to be done, which should remind everyone out there that working on Outlander is very much a year-round gig. There’s almost something happening with the show in some regard; for example, there is already scouting for season 4 locations.

Outlander season 3 will premiere on Starz this September.

Other Sam Heughan highlights

For those of you reasonably familiar with some of Heughan’s work before Outlander, he was a part of a film called Emulsion that you can see in the trailer below. You can check it out on DVD if you choose, or if you’re in the Los Angeles area, there is going to be a festival screening of on June 25. The film’s director in Suki Singh announced the news in a post on Twitter, and gave a couple of different options in the event that you want to attend. It’s a free screening, so for many people out there this could be a fun way to experience the film.

These sort of projects are always intriguing both from the perspective of seeing an actor you appreciate in something new, and of course seeing art for art’s sake and enjoying films that may didn’t get the time in the spotlight they deserved.

As always, we welcome some of your thoughts on this story below! Meanwhile, head over here in the event you do want some further news and Outlander updates. (Photo: Starz.)
