Fall TV Showdowns: Gotham vs. The Big Bang Theory vs. Supernatural season 13
On the flip side, there are three shows airing in this timeslot in The Big Bang Theory, Gotham, and Supernatural that could have some crossover between each other. Where will they all fall when the dust settles? For the sake of this article, let’s try our best to figure it out.
Gotham – This is the newcomer to the schedule, and one that is going to hopefully deliver reasonably consistent ratings. Supernatural is an interesting competitor to it in that they both contain a lot of weird / wacky stuff, and there could easily be just as much crossover here as there was Mondays when the show was airing against Supergirl. Basically, it’s tough for Fox to find a timeslot for this show where there isn’t some sort of competition.
Supernatural – Maybe there will be a little bit of viewership gone with Gotham joining the lineup, but let’s be real: This show could almost survive a comet crashing to the Earth at this point. It’s withstood so many timeslot and creative changes that dealing with something like another competitive show shouldn’t be all that much of a problem.
The Big Bang Theory – It’s a little bit of a misnomer to label The Big Bang Theory as strictly a “geek” show, since there are plenty of people who watch it just because that is their perception of what geeks are. Nonetheless, it does have a crossover audience. It’s bigger concern, though, is probably just making sure the comedy stays fresh more than a decade in, especially since it’s not the sort of show that really is required appointment viewing.
Of these three shows, obviously The Big Bang Theory will win because it’s the #1 comedy on TV. The one that will likely be impacted the most is Gotham, even that the timeslot change will likely lead to some more viewers opting to put it on the DVR.

I can’t stand Big Bang Theory, and SPN has been so disappointing the last few seasons, the ratings are so low. I am definately watching Gotham.
