Is Big Brother 19 gearing up for a shorter season?

Maybe it’s possible that someone at the network listened to this feedback, judging from the way that the schedule is constructed at the moment. Big Brother 19 is not premiering until Wednesday, June 28. Presuming that the houseguests enter the house somewhere around a week before that, this still means that the season could be around a week shorter than Big Brother 18.
One other piece of evidence for a slightly shorter season is the CBS fall premiere schedule, which has Survivor premiering without an extended episode, and without an extended Big Brother finale after it. This could mean that season 19 will end on Wednesday, September 20 or the following day on the 21st. It’s a little too early for confirmation there one way or another, but this is the first time in a few years that the Big Brother finale is not being held until a Survivor premiere.
There have been some rumors out there about a shorter Big Brother season (maybe even shorter than the one laid out here) and a longer season of Big Brother: Over the Top, but that’s not even remotely confirmed. Also, it does still make sense for the network to keep Big Brother at around 88-93 days, given that it is such a cash cow during the summer and it’s not like they have anything else to air during some of those timeslots. It’s not even confirmed that there will be another BB: OTT just yet; there was some entertainment value that came out of it, but in between all the negativity that was out there in the first season and all of the negativity out there in the world in general, it wasn’t the most enjoyable experience.
Ultimately, the main point of this article is making it clear that Big Brother 19 will be a little shorter than last year; the rest is just speculation for now.
