Kandi Burruss considered leaving Real Housewives of Atlanta
Speaking via Us Weekly, Kandi makes it clear when it was that she was having doubts about her future on the show:
“During season 9, I was feeling like I might want to leave because there was so much hate from fans online and I was having trouble because, how do you defend yourself from a lie? How do you defend yourself from something that never happened?”
Now, Kandi is smooth sailing and she’s got a chance to look forward to some more happy times in the future with the rest of the remaining cast. Phaedra came clean about what she told Porsha Williams to kick off the whole drug controversy, and everyone is now in a place where they can start to move forward with their lives in one form or another.
New episodes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta will likely premiere later this fall, with Kim Zolciak being one of the rumored new additions. The one thing that this season could benefit from effectively more so than anything else is the chance to actually move forward, and not have to struggle so much with the idea of having to touch further on something that proved to be false. This is the sort of narrative that weighs the show down; it’s so negative, and the subject matter is just so beyond the pale. It brought negativity to this past season in the way that the Brooks Ayers and the Yolanda Hadid storylines did in recent seasons of the Orange County and Beverly Hills shows. Every now and then, you do run into something that is a little bit much, even for the crazy reality TV genre.
