The Night Shift season 4: Eoin Macken to direct episode
In a post on Twitter earlier today, executive producer Gabe Sachs confirmed that Macken is currently taking on the role for an episode. This is his first episode of the show that he’s been in that position for, but it’s far from his first time directing. (Just a simple IMDb check gives you a sense of some of the shorts / films that he’s directed over time.)
As exciting as this news is, we’re sure that there are plenty of people out there still looking for further answers when it comes to TC’s future on The Night Shift after the season 3 cliffhanger. No spoilers here! With that said, the show would be a pretty huge bummer if the majority of the people involved in near-death situations in the finale actually ended up being dead. Who would man the hospital at night? The show’s already undergoing a transition as it is with Ken Leung (Topher) departing at the end of season 3.
Beyond this news, the biggest piece of advice we can offer is to stay tuned, given that NBC will likely be unveiling a little bit more in the way of information when it comes to the premiere episode before long. This is around the time where synopses and the like start to come out! Hopefully, this will include a deeper season 4 trailer given that the one that is out there at the moment features mostly highlights from season 3.
Above all else, be prepared for a season full of strong, socially-conscious drama that combines complex medical cases with big character moments. Even though there are some other medical shows out there, what makes The Night Shift stand out is its unique point of view, its geography, and the strong connections that are there between many of the doctors on the show and the military.
