Broken episode 2 spoilers: What’s next for Sean Bean, cast?

Broken episode 2

Following up today’s premiere, what comes next for Broken episode 2 on BBC One? The Sean Bean series is set for more powerful stories. With that, the goal is rather clear: To continue exploring complicated dynamics of religion, expression, and identity in Northern England during a troubling time.

As the season progresses, we should get many prime opportunities to see how the story of Sean Bean’s Father Michael unfolds, working with people in his region and trying to cope with the ever-changing times. It may not be the buzziest idea of a premise, but in between this show and Grantchester, it is quite lovely that there are so many interesting portrayals of religion on British TV across the board.

Broken episode 2 synopsis – “Father Michael counsels an enigmatic woman, while a devoted mother is desperate for Father Michael’s help when her mentally ill son experiences a psychotic episode.”

There are several different focuses that this episode seems to have from top to bottom, with one of the primary ones being seeing how the show can effectively tell a story about religion paired with some other important themes. For example, you are going to have a chance to see them deal with mental health in an era where some of the stigma is thankfully starting to go away. Meanwhile, you will also start to see Michael stretched more and more thin with all of the different responsibilities that come with being a Man of God at this point in history. They are expected to be spiritual leaders, but to go along with that further counselors, healers, and in some ways businessmen since there is an element of this that also goes into fronting an organization like the church.

It is still a little too early to determine whether or not Broken is a worthwhile series. Nonetheless, there is absolutely a lot of potential here with the premise and a great cast including Bean and Anna Friel.
