Black Mirror season 4 spoilers: Episode titles, directors revealed
The fine folks over at Reddit have compiled some titles for the upcoming season of the Netflix series, and they suggest intrigue, militarism, music, and then concepts so abstract that it’s hard to figuring out what they could be about.
4×01, “ArkAngel” – Directed by Jodie Foster. Foster’s name alone is going to be enough to have some people out there curious.
4×02, “USS Callister” – Directed by Toby Haynes. Haynes is a British TV veteran who has done work for Sherlock, The Musketeers, and a wide array of other series. This title suggests that some sort of military ship could be involved.
4×03, “Crocodile” – Directed by John Hillcoat. Beyond an unaired pilot, this would be Hillcoat’s first venture into episode TV. It also just so happens to have one of the strangest and most-obscure titles out there, given that it’s hard to tell what this crocodile is specifically a reference to.
4×04, “Hang the DJ” – Given how much Black Mirror has to say about the misgivings of modern technology, there’s obviously a lot that could be ridiculed or examined in the world of house music. Van Patten is one of the most acclaimed TV directors out there, having worked on Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, and Boardwalk Empire.
4×05, “Metalhead” – Directed by David Slade. In theory, this could also be about music … or just some person with a head made of metal. Slade’s a genius in our mind, having done multiple episodes of Hannibal as well as American Gods.
4×06, “Black Museum” – There is no director revealed for this just yet. All that is known for certain is the title, but that should be curious enough for many of you out there…
Once more is known about the future of Black Mirror, of course that information will be here at CarterMatt. In the event you’re not caught up, be sure to go check out the episodes on Netflix! Just be sure that you don’t watch them in the middle of the night, since these may haunt you even more than the standard horror flick. The one thing this show does rather well is gives us horror stories about technology that aren’t really that far off from reality. Remember the episode called “Nosedive”? We had a scare with something called the “Peeple” app a few years ago that was exactly this type of terrifying.
