Dancing with the Stars finale: Who won season 24: Rashad Jennings or Normani Kordei?
It is true that going into this episode, it was fairly easy to write off David Ross as a serious contender, given that his scores were lower than the other contenders and had been for most of the season. He’s almost the Mr. Congeniality of Dancing with the Stars this season, happy to be there but also perfectly well aware that his days were probably numbered. Therefore, he just enjoyed this for every second that he could. Credit to him and his fans for him getting this far. Say what you will about him “not deserving it,” but what does anyone really deserve on a cheesy dance competition? His appearance there is effectively a testament to his own support and some fans’ rejection of predictable people making it to the finale once again.
In Rashad and Normani, you did have clearly two incredible dancers with large audiences, but still, Normani was in our mind the frontrunner because of one simple thing: Fifth Harmony fans.
Well, about that….
In the end, Normani actually finished in third place, which is probably further testament to the incredible following that David had for the majority of the season. It also sent much of Twitter into a tailspin over the course of the night. How did that happen?
Anyway, the winner of the season is … Rashad! He and Emma Slater took home the title, and despite the rocky road getting there, this season did have a worthy winner in the end. He was a great dancer throughout, but more than that it was easy to fall in love with his story and the person that he was. He continues the legacy of great NFL stars who built a bigger audience on this show.
