The 100 season 4 finale spoilers: Will Bellamy, Octavia’s separation last?
For Bellamy and Octavia, what you could see is a longtime partnership separate for a long time as they each attend to different groups of people and very different places. They care about each other, and it will be strange for them to spend so much time apart.
Yet, as executive producer Jason Rothenberg suggests, this move could be necessary for each character’s further development and growth moving into the already-renewed season 5. Speaking in a new interview with TV Guide, he had the following message to pass along:
“I think ultimately, obviously, they will be together again at some point, assuming they both survive between the hiatus of Season 4 into Season 5 … What will it be like when they come back together? Will they be on the same page of things? They’ll clearly be overjoyed to see each other, but then it will be about sort of now having to live together again.”
A big part of what makes The 100 season 5 on paper so interesting is that while everything in the past is still important for the series, there is an interesting reset quality that comes with the majority of it. You can push the series forward with a massive time jump that allows everyone to mature, and you can play around with the possibility of exploring where some of these characters are in the next phase of their lives.
The finale, more than likely, will bring you to the point where some of the big jumping forward happens. Following that, you’ll be left waiting courtesy of some sort of epic hiatus in order to see more of what lies ahead. Just like past seasons, The 100 season 5 won’t be coming on the air until midseason and there’ll be plenty of time to speculate about what’s coming.
