Bull finale spoilers: An anonymous jury and a slap
Let’s take a moment here in trying to set the stage for what the finale is going to be about. For a new case involving what seems to be a drug trafficking ring, Bull is heading down to Miami alongside J.P. Nunnelly and some members of his TAC team. What seems on the surface to be a chance for some fun in the sun (and some cheerier outfits for Dr. Bull) is quickly going to turn south.
For one, the presence of the anonymous jury is an almost-impossible way for Bull to get what he wants in the case. How can he manipulate a jury to help his client when they can’t be seen? This feels like a total blockade, but luckily, if there’s one thing we’ve learned as of late about this show, it is that expectations tend to crumble when Dr. Bull is involved. If anyone is going to be able to break through and render many of these expectations useless, it’s probably him.
Along the way, though, he becomes a recipient of the aforementioned slap courtesy of Nunnelly. What happened here? It’s really not all that hard to figure out, given that the relationship between these two has remained fairly contentious over the course of the past few episodes. The reality is that they’re both alphas. With that, they each constantly think that they are right and will do anything that they can in order to further reinforce that, even if it doesn’t seem like a great move for them to do that in terms of the interpersonal relationships around them.
Given that this case is the second of three different cases Bull is set to work for Nunnelly, the assumption is that she will be back early next season — or so we hope. There was talk previously about her becoming a season 2 regular, but it remains to be seen if that sticks.
What do you expect to see on the Bull finale, and do you think there could be any sort of big cliffhanger leading into season 2? Sound off in the comments!
