The Leftovers season 3 episode 7 spoilers: Justin Theroux’s showcase
The Leftovers season 3 episode 7 is going to be airing on HBO next week, which is mostly notable in that the network is not opting to take off Memorial Day Weekend when it comes to their programming. Understandably, this is something that not all networks want to try and brave, mostly because of their own awareness that total viewership will more than likely be down because people are effectively treating that Saturday like a Sunday and they are off as a result of that engaging in some other stuff.
For this show, HBO knows that this is the final season and there is therefore fewer expectations for them to have to come out and deliver some huge knockout punch of numbers. “The Most Powerful Man in the World (and His Identical Twin Brother)” is the title for the episode that is coming up, and one of the things that you should know in advance is that the show is venturing off into some of the same strange territory that they did with “International Assassin.” Given that this was the best episode of season 2 and arguably the entire series, it’s easy to welcome something similar with open arms.
Given that this is the penultimate episode of the show, and also one that is set in such a strange, unusual world, don’t be all that shocked that HBO is not giving a whole lot away here in advance.
The Leftovers season 3 episode 7 synopsis – “On a mission of mercy, Kevin (Justin Theroux) assumes an alternate identity.”
For Theroux, hopefully this episode gives him an opportunity to build a little bit more of an awards-show resume as he proves that he is worth every second of the attention that is being given to him. He may not act for the trophies, but he’s been acting out of his mind for the past two seasons. This should give him incredible material, while also setting the stage for whatever the series finale could be.
Promo – This shows you more of how this alternate universe could come about, and some of the assorted chaos that will inevitably be following some of that up.
