Into the Badlands season 3 premiere date hopes for AMC series
Because of the show’s production cycle, and the shorter run of most cable series in general, the martial arts series starring Daniel Wu will not be airing until 2018. That’s the bad news. However, the good news here is that the third season is going to run for 16 episodes, which means that you’re going to have a chance to check out some more great stories than ever featuring Sunny and some of the other characters who have long navigated the crazy world of this show.
In a statement all about the show’s renewal, Charlie Collier of AMC / SundanceTV / AMC Studios had the following to say earlier this spring:
“‘Into the Badlands’ looks like nothing else on television, a literal high-wire act attracting passionate and dedicated fans by the millions … Thanks to series creators and showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar, the terrific cast, led by Daniel Wu, the amazing martial arts team guided by the incomparable Master Dee Dee and fight directors Stephen Fung and Andy Cheng, and everyone else involved who brings this thrill ride to the fans.”
The wait until season 3 is going to be a long one, one most likely made longer by the fact that there is effectively no other show like this on TV at the moment. Few other series find a way to incorporate action, drama, and character development in the way that this one does. While there are a number of impressive fight scenes, they are also earned and there for a specific purpose. This helps in order to further ensure that there is a sense of great creativity about this show, and that it will continue to stand out no matter what is happening in terms of some of the other shows that are on television.
So is it possible that Into the Badlands season 3 will give way to season 4? It’s beyond just possible, but it’s hard to speculate on it for sure until next year when the new batch of ratings comes in.

Season Two was really great. The body count was very high, and there will be a lot of new faces next season. I thought they might give Veil a few more episodes with Henry and Sunny, but that didn’t happen. Sunny, Bajie and everyone might not be happy with what comes from Azrah(or wherever that message is going to.) They might even have GUNS(uh oh.) There are 3 Barons left, unless you want to count the missing Jacobi, which makes four. Will Zephyr show up again? How long will Odessa and Tilda be on the run? The only place Sunny can go(for the moment) is to where Quinn’s first wife’s father(played by Lance Henriksen) is. Season Three can’t get here soon enough.
