Lucifer season 2 episode 17 spoilers: Charlotte puts on an act
One of the craziest things about Lucifer season 2 episode 17 is the simple fact that there are only two episodes to go this season. Because of Fox shifting back four episodes to next season, the show is going to be ending sooner rather than later. With that, there’s going to be a lot of story crammed into the next two weeks. This includes the new episode “Sympathy for the Goddess” airing tomorrow night, and judging from the sneak peek below, this one could be a great deal of fun.
In this preview (via TVLine), one of the things that you do get a chance to see is Charlotte on the defensive. Lucifer wants to get her and Chloe together working on a new cast, but there is a clear problem. Namely, it’s that Chloe loathes Charlotte and wants nothing to do with her.
As a result of this, Lucifer makes his mother put on an act that feels almost like a beauty-pageant parent trying to get their child to come out and perform a song properly to an audience. While Charlotte struggles to get some of the words out, Lucifer struggles to varying effect to get her to say what he wants her to in order to convince Chloe to “work on the case.”
This video is fun, but does it get you back to the crux of the story this season? Not entirely, but that moment will come in due time where the mission revolving around Heaven reaches a peak. Not only that, but there is only going to be so long that Lucifer manages to keep the bulk of his secrets. You do have to remember, after all, that Chloe is a smart person! She’s not going to be someone easily duped by whatever tricks and twists are thrown her way.
Whatever happens by the end of this episode, it could set the stage for a cliffhanger. Here’s to hoping that this is a fairly epic one that generates some buzz almost right away for the next season of the show to premiere. Remember, this fall the show will be bumping itself forward to Monday nights at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, a full hour earlier.
