With American Horror Story season 7 coming on the horizon, co-creator Ryan Murphy is still generating some discussion. This time, it’s with patriotic … hair? Well, that seems to be the case.
The new post on Instagram below via Murphy is the latest new tease at the same and the apparent political vision that he has for it. This is certainly weird, but this is also a weird show that often does feature contestants doing (natch) weird things. With all of that considered, this image is actually somewhat tame.
Nonetheless, there are enough teasers out there at this point that it is easier to construct some theories as to what is going on with the story at the moment. Take, for example, the entire theme of the Presidential Election. Maybe many theorists out there have been looking at things the wrong way in thinking as tough this is some sort of indictment strictly on President Trump, Russia, the new Administration, and the like. Maybe this is more of an allegory on us as people, and how something like this ends up dividing us further into different groups with the inability to get along or even really try to. Regardless of your affiliation, so much of social media now consists of people yelling at each other using arguably the same strategies: Citing “facts,” referencing how someone is a criminal, and eventually devolving into childish insults. Nothing is getting done. Maybe a part of that is due to a lack of leadership at the top, but at a certain point all of us as humans have to bear a certain degree of responsibility for our own actions and feelings.
Maybe this is a Horror Story that is trying to teach us something greater; or, this is something that is being read far too much into given that it’s a single image.
New episodes of American Horror Story are going to be airing on FX starting this fall; more casting and other teasers should be made apparent before then. For now, just be sure to head over here to get some further insight.
