Arrow season 5 episode 23 (finale) spoilers: Slade Wilson returns in ‘Liam Yu’

If you are ready for some Arrow season 5 episode 23 news, you’re in the right place! Next week’s new episode “Liam Yu” is a culmination. Everything so far this season, and across the series as a whole in many ways, built to this point. Oliver Queen will be saying goodbye to his past in the finale as the flashbacks finally end. Meanwhile, in the present he’ll be returning to the island for a showdown like no other in Adrian Chase. He’s got an army on his side, and with that, Oliver is going to need some help of his own.

The precise origin of said allies should surprise many people, since Oliver is specifically reliant on multiple people he’s defeated in the past — including Slade Wilson! Manu Bennett’s return to the show is the big headline, mostly because he’s been critical of the last time he was on the show and the way Deathstroke was treated then. Hopefully, this restores the character back to his unstoppable origins as Oliver has to wrangle a deal with him to stop Chase once and for all.

Arrow season 5 episode 23 synopsis – “The battle between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra) culminates in a final epic battle on Lian Yu. After recent events, Oliver decides to recruit a group of unlikely allies – Slade (guest star Manu Bennett), Nyssa (guest star Katrina Law), Merlyn (John Barrowman) and Digger Harkness (guest star Nick. E. Tarabay) – to defeat Chase. However, Chase has his own army – Black Siren (guest star Katie Cassidy), Evelyn Sharp (guest star Madison McLaughlin) and Talia al Ghul (guest star Lexa Doig) – and the forces collide in an explosive season finale.”

Seeing the likes of Evelyn and Nyssa back especially should prove interesting just because of all the build-in character dilemmas that are there. With Nyssa, for example, this parks a tremendous opportunity to see how she reacts to some of what her sister is doing for the first time on the show; meanwhile, Evelyn is now an enemy of the whole Team Arrow after betraying them, and Black Siren always conjures up memories of Laurel.
