NCIS: New Orleans season 3 finale spoilers: Is Agent Pride in too deep?
Before continuing, let’s set the table for a minute in terms of what could be coming up over the course of the episode. Scott Bakula’s character has been spending the past few episodes working to take down Mayor Hamilton and his operation once and for all. He’s gone deep — so deep, in fact, that it doesn’t appear as though there is going to be any escape for him. It seemed like he was going to die at the end of this past episode, but somehow, he’s still walking around. (Is Pride secretly a Terminator or something?)
With Hamilton and his people presuming his death, nothing within the sneak peek comes as much of a surprise. He is able to engage in a little bit more of a sneak attack, and get the upper hand on them. Granted, specifically what he does is pretty terrifying and not the sort of behavior that you would expect for a typical NCIS agent.
Assuming that Pride does make it out of the season alive, which is probably not that hard a presumption given that there is no reason for the show to want to kill off a major character, one of the next primary orders of business is going to be trying to find a way to continue the story with him still as a functioning agent. Will he be able to chalk all of this up to self-defense? How much safer will he have made New Orleans? The thing about a criminal operation is that sometimes, cutting off the head of the sake doesn’t mean too much in the long-term. There’s a chance that another sneak will slither their way to the top and cause more problems down the road.
