Quantico season 3: Priyanka Chopra series renewed
What’s the holdup on the renewal? That is a really good question at the moment, since this is something that was expected to happen for many weeks. The ratings for season 2 were not exactly great in terms of live+same day data, but there are some incentives for ABC as a network to give the Priyanka Chopra series another go.
1. Chopra herself – She is one of the biggest international stars on the network, with a reach of more than 17 million people on Twitter and about the same number on Instagram. She is extremely popular in parts of the world where few other ABC properties are. Given the ownership of the show, there is international profit potential here that plays a big role in the series’ overall success.
Also, remember that she is one of the stars of the upcoming Baywatch movie, and it is fair to think that her performance there could attract more attention to the show down the line.
2. Timely subject matter – Given just how much the FBI was in the spotlight as of late, don’t you think that Quantico has some great season 3 potential in terms of story? You have to think that this is something already being talked about as a way to pull the next season up to the next level.
3. Other metrics – Remember that, at the moment, live+same day is far from the only way in which shows are judged. There is also DVR and streaming data to look at, and ABC makes money in one way or another from some of this. Odds are the network will look at much of this before determining the show’s future.
One way or another, a renewal or cancellation for Quantico is something that will be coming your way shortly; just remember that contracts will expire for the casts before long, and there’s only so long ABC can leave them waiting in the wings before they move on to some other opportunities. Also, networks do like to have their lineup largely determined for upfronts.
Update: We can tell you now that a Quantico season 3 renewal is coming your way! It was confirmed tonight; however, showrunner Josh Safran will be departing.

It should be renewed on the condition that the writers change or same ones keep their jobs but be told to stop writing like it’s Archie Comics. Dialogue is often diabolical in its stupid tropes. Gee guys what do we do now…
