Once Upon a Time season 7: Emilie de Ravin opens up on departure
In a new post shared to her official Instagram page, Emilie made it clear her complicated sort of emotions following the big news for her exit; specifically, she was unaware as to the timing of the announcement and was disappointed that she did not have the opportunity to tell everyone before a statement came out. Nonetheless, her statement makes it clear how thrilled she is to have worked with so many great people over the years, and cherishes her time as a part of the show.
Writing out Emilie’s character of Belle may be one of the harder challenges for the writers when you consider that her story with Rumpelstiltskin felt nowhere near a conclusion. No character on this show arguably had happiness ripped from her on more of a regular basis. First, she fell in love with a man whose addictions to power far surpassed his personal love of her. This is without even mentioning what happened to Belle while Emilie was off on maternity leave. Hey, at least some other characters had moments of fleeting happiness.
The decision drop Emilie, Jared Gilmore, Rebecca Mader, and many other characters is seemingly creative. There are probably financial benefits that come from it, but the show may have a story in mind for their three returning cast members in Lana Parrilla, Colin O’Donoghue, and

I gave up on Rumbelle a long time ago. I think once they started favoring Mr. Guy-liner, Hook. So I am sure this season finale is going to be awful for my once favorite characters. I don’t watch consistently because they keep putting nails in the coffin they made for Carlyle. I am passing on this Sunday’s finale too. Why sit through another disappointment- Belle telling Rumple she hates him and leaving. Maybe I will peek on Netflix for a few Season 7 episodes. I wish Robert Carlyle would doing something else on television worth watching.

I stopped watching the show when they killed Neal off, but I kept up with the Rumbelle story occasionally online and so this is very disappointing. It sucked enough for me that Swanfire wasn’t getting a happy ending but now Rumbelle won’t either. I look forward to whatever Emilie does next though.
