The Blacklist season 4 finale spoilers: Is Reddington Liz’s father? Answers coming…
Leading into The Blacklist season 4 finale next week, everything comes down to this: It’s Mr. Kaplan in one corner, and Reddington in another. The greatest showdown in the history of the show is right around the bend. She stands on a pedestal of her own in terms of the greatest Big Bads we’ve seen as she is intelligent, resourceful, and holds the secrets to Reddington’s kingdom. She can destroy him in ways no other can, and this makes her a formidable opponent for him. He may not be able to kill her via normal means, and it’s hard as a viewer to even want that! Everything that transpires now is a consequence of his own actions; he led Mr. Kaplan down a road where she perceived that Liz Keen’s best interests were no longer being met. She acted as a result, lost his trust, and now he is setting up to issue his own brand of revenge.
The Blacklist finale next week is going to be a double headed (two episodes in a row!), so make sure if you’re not watching live to set your DVR for both. Below are some of the first details on these episodes available to you, courtesy of the fine folks over at NBC. As expected, there are minor spoilers ahead for those averse to knowing what’s going to happen before the episode airs. Proceed with caution.
Season 4 episode 21, “Mr. Kaplan” – “Facing a crippling siege on his criminal organization, Red (James Spader) tracks a high-end thief (Aldis Hodge) enlisted by Mr. Kaplan (Susan Blommaert) for a mysterious assignment. Meanwhile, Aram (Amir Arison) faces a difficult choice when Agent Gale (Enrique Murciano) takes extreme measures in his investigation into the Task Force’s conduct.”
Season 4 finale, “Mr. Kaplan: Conclusion” – “Red (James Spader) sets a risky plan in motion to save the Task Force and himself as Mr. Kaplan (Susan Blommaert) launches the final phase of her assault on his criminal empire. With the future of the Task Force in jeopardy, Liz (Megan Boone) confronts the biggest questions about her past.”
The final episode this season will contain the biggest answers on the series to date. It may not answer every question, but several blanks will be filled in and the show can move forward with a new landscape and new issues to resolve. One thing to remember is that The Blacklist was just renewed for a fifth season earlier today. They had, at the time of the finale, no way of knowing if another season was coming.
The important thing is that the truth behind the Reddington – Liz connection will finally be revealed. Whether or not you are hoping they are father and daughter or you are hoping there is no relation between them, we are all getting answers.

I love the Blacklist. James Spader does a wonderful job as Red. I know he will win with the war with Kaplin, I just hope he’s not the one to kill her. It doesn’t matter to me if Liz is his daughter or not. I just love the show, great writing, whatever you do. A loyal fan.

I did my happy dance when I read Blacklist was being renewed for another season. I’m addicted to the show. Not sure what is going to happen in the finale, but I have believed all along Red is Liz’s father. If not, I’ll be crushed and so disappointed.

Think it’s time for Tom to take a break from his own parent’s drama and give Liz a hand!

By now you think someone would have run a dna test on Liz and Red. We know Red surives this, can’t have a show without him. the question is though does Mr. Kaplan die? And is there any chance of Red and her being partners again? Can Red and her forgive? I think Liz will make that decision for them. The one thing they care most about is her, even more than their own lives.
