iZombie season 4 renewal: Series boss confident it will happen

Is an iZombie season 4 renewal coming? There are some reasons for optimism at the moment, beginning of course with its devoted fans. Beyond that, The CW already canceled both No Tomorrow and Frequency, and with both The Vampire Diaries and Reign ending, they theoretically have four hours of programming open for the upcoming season already. If they cancel The Originals, that number expands upward to five. There isn’t really so much of a reason to ax any other show provided that your main focus is having a robust library of shows moving into the future.

Speaking per Entertainment Weekly on the subject Rob Thomas gave a strong (and pretty personal) vote of confidence when speaking further about how he anticipates that the show is going to be back for further episodes:

“I’ll say this: I bought a house in L.A. and I’m moving there hoping there will be a season 4, so no one will be more disappointed than me and my business manager if there is not. I am betting a lot that there will be. I feel good. I am confident, and hopefully, that confidence is not misplaced.”

Thomas also gave everyone a further reason to watch the show in regards to the structure of season 4, making it clear that “the season 3 finale is a pretty major reset of the show, so I feel like if I said anything about season 4, I would be giving away the cool stuff that we want to surprise people with in the finale of season 3.” Basically, this is a show that you’re going to want to keep watching! If the show doesn’t get renewed, then all of a sudden you don’t get a chance to see precisely what the twist is leading into the fourth season.

The real test to us for iZombie, provided that it is not renewed over the next few weeks, is how it will fare after the finale for The Flash airs. For the time being, this should be a way for the show to get a pretty significant boost when it comes to ratings, just because it is the network’s #1 scripted show.
