Lucifer season 2 episode 16 spoilers: Are we meeting the face of God?
The one thing that we do know is that this said episode, titled of course “God Johnson,” has the potential to be one of the most entertaining hours that we’ve seen so far this season. It’s hard to say anything at all about an hour that is featuring Timothy Omundson of Galavant and Psych fame in the role of the character. (Fittingly, this is the second slice of great Omundson news we’ve had this week following the announcement that Psych is coming back as a reunion movie.)
The one thing that we do know is that God is going to be found in a place where it is not all that easy for anyone to believe in him or what he has to say about himself.
Lucifer season 2 episode 16 synopsis – “When a grisly murder takes place at an insane asylum, the prime suspect calls himself God (guest star Timothy Omundson). After realizing that this man could actually be his father, Lucifer struggles with his feelings towards him and tries to find the truth, all while trying to discover who the real killer is.”
If Omundson were in fact his father, it’d be a great reveal and could lead to even more appearances down the line. Yet, we’d also be surprised that we’re seeing him less than a season removed from seeing Mom (Tricia Helfer) for the first time — though are there better TV parents than Helfer and Omundson paired together? We’re hard-pressed to think of any.
The big thing to look forward to as we dive further into the remaining episodes of this season is some more mythology about all of these characters. Lucifer has to better find the person that he wants to be through some of their stories, and also prepare even more for his own future. Will that be a future that also includes Chloe and some of the work that he is already doing? That is the hope, but there’s still plenty of room for a few more twists.
