American Gods episode 3 spoilers: The bank job
What we’re talking about here is Mr. Wednesday telling him that he wants to rob a bank as he prepares for his battle between the old gods and new. Here’s the issue — Shadow still has the prison release hanging over his head. It would make a whole lot of sense that he doesn’t want to be locked up again anytime soon, so we don’t exactly imagine him expressing a whole lot of willingness with wanting to go through with any plan that is going to lead to him ending up behind bars again. He’s starting to figure out that there is something unusual about this world, and it’s not just that he may be losing his own grasp on it.
Below, you can see a little bit more in terms of what will be coming up, both good and bad for him, over the course of this episode.
American Gods episode 3 synopsis – “Shadow questions the terms of his employment when Mr. Wednesday informs him of his plan to rob a bank (because, naturally, every army needs a source of funding). And just when Shadow thought his life couldn’t get any more complicated, he returns to his motel room to a surprising discovery.”
We don’t come into this series with the luxury of knowing much about the Neil Gaiman book on which the show is based; many of you out there may know what this “surprising discovery” is. For us, we wonder if this will be the new or old gods’ way of further enticing Shadow to go along with their own teachings. Could they bestow a gift upon him? With this show especially, we absolutely do think that just about anything is possible.
Beyond this, we have characters that we want to see in a larger role on the show again soon. Just remember for a moment that American Gods is a very short season, and we only had a few minutes of Gillian Anderson as Media tonight.
