Scorpion season 3 episode 24 spoilers: Is Happy the new Robin Sparkles?
With Scorpion season 3 episode 24 airing on CBS Monday night, we are moving ever closer to the end of the season. Before we get to the closing minutes of the finale, though, there is another surprising question worthy of asking: Does Happy have a hidden talent? Does she have more in common with Robin Sparkles than we ever realized?
In the sneak peek below from Monday night’s “Maroon 8” (a musical reference in its own right), Toby is in the midst of a freakout after his honeymoon in French Polynesia ends up becoming a disaster. The plane crashes on a deserted island, and the team has no way of being able to escape. They have to figure out how to survive, and then also live with each other without killing each other. It’s pretty much a proven fact that if you spend every waking second with someone, there is a fairly good chance that they are going to drive you up the wall.
One of the reasons why Toby is going driven crazy is because he realizes that Happy has a personal history that he never quite knew about, including that she lived in Portugal and has a music “single.” The Robin Sparkles reference comes from How I Met Your Mother, where we learned that Cobie Smulders’ character had a short life as a Canadian pop star with “Let’s Go to the Mall” and (to a certain extent) “Sandcastles in the Sand.” While this story could be a little bit of a retread on that ground, we really wouldn’t mind all that much given that the entire Robin Sparkles story was hysterical and Scorpion is great at putting a completely original spin on stories we may have seen before.
Ironically, this entire story idea has been on our mind as of late as someone who only recently discovered that Agents of SHIELD star Chloe Bennet is almost a real-life Robin Sparkles with a popular single in China entitled “Uh Oh” that is now haunting her thanks to some appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! talking about it.
Now that the Scorpion writers have put the metaphorical golf ball on the tee, they do realize that they’re going to have to swing it, right? Also, we are praying to the television gods that there is a Happy music video that goes along with her big hit.
