Britain’s Got Talent review: Grace and Ali, Martin and Faye, DJ Dizzy Twilight
Martin and Faye – They are the sort of sweet father / daughter singing duo who could make it to the final based mostly on sentimentality. Faye in particular has potential down the road, so we consider this more of a jumping-off point in her career as opposed to a show she has a chance of actually winning.
Grace and Ali – A very fantastic contemporary dance duo that showed a lot of strength, a lot of emotion, and great choreography. They’re perfect live-show material, and like Martin and Faye, we could see them making the final when the dust settles.
The World’s Worst Impressionist – He’s terrible, but almost so bad that he’s good. Hey, at least we understood his Louis Walsh impression!
Angara Contortion – Easily one of the cooler acts of this time we’ve ever seen. We’ve certainly seen many solo contortionist acts over the years, but with more than one of them? That was something new, and the fact that they could all do this was even more impression. We can only imagine the sort of training doing this requires.
Harry Gardner – An emotional piano player and singer who performed a song dedicated to his grandmother. Beautiful singer, and a very good songwriter. We understand that people like him could easily do The X Factor, but we’re actually glad that he was on this show. This level of creativity rarely shines through elsewhere.
Hoop Guy – This was unbelievably stupid, but in between the song and his silly act, it was camp fun. Sometimes, that’s what you need with this show.
DJ Dizzy Twilight – Apparently, she’s a grandma who DJs … sort of. We’re not sure how accomplished of a DJ she really is, but this is another one of those acts who made us laugh. Oddly, there was no Golden Buzzer this show! We were slightly worried she’d be David’s.
