Latest renewal odds: Agents of SHIELD, The Exorcist, Timeless, Blindspot

Latest renewal odds

How are some of your favorite shows doing as they get closer to either renewal or cancellation? We’ve got a little more intel both in terms of more ratings, cancellations elsewhere, and a new report from Deadline detailing where some shows stand at present within the networks.

Note that this information is all tentative, and could change over the course of the days ahead. Things will start to pick up rapidly.

Gotham – Despite not being renewed yet for some reason, it’s almost a slam-dunk to be back.

The Exorcist – There’s been an intense fan campaign for months, and the poor performance of Fox’s schedule elsewhere has served as a sign of hope as of late. The Deadline report also suggests that even without a back nine pickup, there is cause for optimism here.

Timeless – This situation is still tenuous, with the time-travel drama potentially one of the last-minute decisions this season.

The Blacklist – It will probably be back, whereas things aren’t looking for The Blacklist: Redemption even with it having a compact run.

Blindspot – The Deadline report labels it as in the same boat as Timeless; personally, we see it having a slightly better chance of returning for another run.

Agents of SHIELD – Even with very low ratings for much of the season, the Marvel franchise name and low ratings elsewhere are strongly improving its chances at another run.

Quantico – The way that ABC continues to promote the show should tell you everything you need to know: They’re probably not giving up on this yet.

Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders – We’ve tried to stay optimistic, but the Deadline report suggests that things aren’t looking good. The show being from an outside studio doesn’t help matters.

Law & Order: SVU – It’s an institution and it will be back.

Elementary – We thought it was for sure a goner at this point a month ago, but Deadline suggests that international sales and syndication are putting this show in a decent spot. We’d consider it firmly on the bubble and that it could go either way.

The Amazing Race – Despite some ratings valleys, our sentiment is that a 30th and final season is in the cards to give the show a proper send-off.
