Reign season 4 episode 12 spoilers: Mary’s defense in ‘The Shakedown’
Also, the issues going on in England are not necessarily going away, either. These will remain a key part of the narrative, and something that you should look out for further throughout the episode ahead.
Reign season 4 episode 12 synopsis – “After a tragic earthquake hits Scotland, Mary (Adelaide Kane) must face John Knox (Jonathan Goad) amidst claims that she isn’t coming to the aid of her people. Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) takes drastic measures after she is discovered with Gideon (Ben Geurens), while Charles (Spencer MacPherson) makes a decision that backfires.”
Is Mary really abandoning her people? We have a hard time believing that. However, we do think as though there are many situations in which she could be held back. For her, figuring out a way to aid her people now is essential not only in cementing her legacy as a worthy ruler, but also ensuring that she has people on her side in the event that she needs some help.
Of course, you do also have to think down the road in realizing that she doesn’t have that much time to shape her legacy at all. While she may be acutely aware in some ways that anything can happen in life — she went through such tragedy with Francis — it’s nonetheless hard to believe that she felt her life was about to be crashing down at just about any second. Just look at the history books, and then look at how many episodes we have left. That gives you a sense of where this is going.
What are your personal hopes for Reign season 4 episode 12? How do you think Mary will withstand the earthquake in the midst of everything else in her life? Sound off in the comments!
