Could a Sense8 season 3 happen on Netflix? Vote in our poll!

Sense8 season 3

Is Netflix looking to order a Sense8 season 3? It may be a little early to know for sure if it’s happening, but we can ultimately say there’s interest. Why is that? The proof comes via the news that is already out there.

Earlier this year, Deadline reported that the contracts for the majority of the show’s cast had expired in the long time that it look to make season 2 of the science fiction series. Because of the long production cycle for this show, expiring contracts is something that the streaming service has to deal with. Negotiations were underway at that time to extend many deals enough so that they could make a proper decision on its future.

The site also reported that Netflix may have until June under the new deals to determine whether or not they want to do a third season of the show; otherwise, they could have to go into further negotiations again. What could make this frustrating for the long ensemble cast is that they want to be able to know what’s next for some of their own careers, and waiting around to learn the future of your show puts you in a certain degree of limbo. We absolutely understand that there could be some elements of it that are rather tough to deal with, even if the reward is positive when the dust settles given that you get to make a series that you just so happen to love. This is also a show that travels around the world, so even aside from playing a character, there are numerous rewards that come via the opportunity to be a part of the Sense8 family.

Hopefully, Netflix will figure out what they want to do here moving forward. While they don’t release information about viewership publicly, they of course have complicated metrics that they can look at internally. More than likely, they like to give shows a good month or so to see the data before deciding formally on what they want a fate of a potential series to be.
